Physiotherapy
Physiotherapy can be used to assess and treat any musculoskeletal condition
and or rehabilitate a person back to a specific sport or everyday life.
Initially the
Physiotherapist will conduct an assessment consisting of a series of questions
followed by an objective assessment. The Physiotherapist will then able
to discuss with you, your diagnosis and prognosis.
Physiotherapy aims to endorse as much as possible the patient to self manage
their condition and rehabilitation. The physiotherapist may use a number
of manual techniques, electrotherapy and complimentary therapies to help
restore or alleviate symptoms.
This is followed up with a series of exercises
and advice to help rehabilitate each individual to full physical function. Physiotherapy bases it's skills around manual techniques which involve
the therapist mobilizing certain joints and soft tissue structures to alleviate
symptoms and restore balance to the body.
A good understanding of human movement is necessary to enable the therapist
to assess the performance of the body during specific movements for dysfunction
and or weakness.
The physiotherapist will aim to treat your primary problem and rehabilitate
your body back to fitness. |
